Abstract

Dementia pugilistica, a neurodegenerative condition associated with repetitive head trauma, particularly prevalent among boxers, presents a profound challenge at the intersection of sports, health, and neuroscience. This review explores the pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, risk factors, and current research surrounding dementia pugilistica, shedding light on its impact on individuals and the broader sporting community. By examining the evolving understanding of this condition, we aim to underscore the critical need for preventive measures and targeted interventions to mitigate its devastating consequences.mi
