Abstract

The abstract emphasizes the critical importance of fishery sustainability in preserving the health and productivity of marine ecosystems for present and future generations. It outlines the multifaceted nature of fishery sustainability, encompassing environmental, economic, and social considerations. Urgent environmental challenges such as overfishing, habitat destruction, pollution, and climate change underscore the need for sustainable fisheries management practices. The abstract highlights the economic and social benefits of fishery sustainability, including food security, economic prosperity, and livelihoods for millions of people worldwide. Despite persistent challenges such as illegal fishing and weak governance, achieving fishery sustainability requires a collaborative and sciencebased approach that engages governments, industry, NGOs, and local communities. Ultimately, embracing sustainable fishing practices is essential for securing the long-term health and resilience of marine ecosystems and ensuring the well-being of both human and marine populations.
