Abstract
Additional, adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase (AMPK) is a highly conserved serine/threonine protein kinase that plays an important role in vascular homeostasis and is involved in the pathogenesis of Pulmonary arterial hypertension. Adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase exerts a pro-apoptotic effect in vascular smooth muscle cells and an anti-apoptotic effect in endothelial cells.
