Abstract

In the grand tapestry of existence, where the threads of biology, evolution, and the delicate balance of ecosystems intertwine, viruses emerge as enigmatic architects of change and, simultaneously, as formidable adversaries to human health. These microscopic entities, straddling the boundary between life and non-life, have played an instrumental role in shaping the very fabric of life on our planet. From the dawn of life itself, viral infections have been an enduring force, leaving an indelible mark on the course of civilizations and presenting an ever-evolving challenge that tests our collective resilience as a species.
