Abstract

In the global effort to combat climate change, the development and dissemination of innovative technologies play a crucial role. This article examines the intersection of intellectual property (IP) rights and the international dissemination of technologies aimed at mitigating climate change. IP rights, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights, incentivize innovation by granting creators exclusive rights over their inventions, but they also pose challenges in terms of accessibility and affordability of climate-friendly technologies, particularly in developing countries. The abstract explores mechanisms such as technology licensing, patent pooling, and international agreements designed to facilitate technology transfer while addressing IP concerns.
