Abstract

This article explores the pivotal role of powder metallurgy in the manufacturing of medical devices, with a specific focus on the utilization of biocompatible materials. Biocompatibility is paramount in medical device production to ensure patient safety and device effectiveness. Powder metallurgy offers a versatile platform for fabricating intricate and customized components using a variety of biocompatible materials, including stainless steel, titanium alloys, cobalt-chromium alloys, and even biodegradable materials. The article delves into the key manufacturing processes involved in powder metallurgy, highlighting its advantages in terms of material purity, complex geometry, costeffectiveness, and enhanced mechanical properties. As the medical device industry continues to evolve, powder metallurgy is poised to play an increasingly significant role in shaping the future of medical device design and production, ultimately improving patient outcomes.
