Abstract

Pleural mesothelioma is a rare and aggressive form of cancer that primarily affects the lining of the lungs (pleura) and is most commonly associated with asbestos exposure. This article provides a comprehensive overview of pleural mesothelioma, including its etiology, pathophysiology, clinical presentation, diagnostic methods, treatment options, and prognosis. The discussion also addresses the challenges associated with early detection, the impact of asbestos regulations, and ongoing research efforts aimed at improving patient outcomes. By highlighting key findings and clinical practices, this article aims to enhance awareness and understanding of pleural mesothelioma among healthcare professionals and the general public.
