The authors described the use of LC-ESI-MS/MS in the analyses of tryptic digests of bacterial samples and identified large number of proteins and novel potential peptide markers for bacterial species discrimination. The authors carried out MALDI-TOF MS for identification of markers and specificity. Peptide identification was accomplished through SEQUEST and MASCOT searching in the public databases. Overall, the manuscript is very well organized section-wise with necessary details. The conclusions drawn are supported by experimental results.
