Abstract
During cancer treatment, nutrition plays a crucial role in supporting overall health and immune function, potentially influencing treatment outcomes and quality of life for patients. This review explores the importance of incorporating nourishing foods rich in essential nutrients and antioxidants into the diets of individuals undergoing cancer treatment. Key nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, omega-3 fatty acids, and phytochemicals from fruits and vegetables are highlighted for their potential benefits in bolstering immune response, reducing inflammation, and supporting recovery. The review synthesizes evidence from studies and clinical trials examining the impact of these nutrients on managing treatment side effects, enhancing tolerance to therapies, and improving overall well-being. Strategies to address specific dietary needs, such as maintaining adequate protein and calorie intake, managing taste changes, and addressing gastrointestinal symptoms, are discussed within the context of personalized nutrition care for cancer patients.
