Abstract

Cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and cancer have not been fundamentally cured so far, which is largely related to the defects in our understanding of these diseases. For decades, we have been committed to the treatment of cardiovascular diseases with the research methods of traditional Chinese medicine which has its own aspects that are different from modern medicine. Traditional Chinese medicine views diseases from a more macro perspective, and rarely involves molecular level research. It regards the human body as an organic whole composed of multiple systems, and regards the disease as the dysfunction of a certain system of the body, or the dysfunction of the related system caused by the dysfunction of other systems. Diseases that appear in the body are external manifestations, and the factors that cause the disease may be in the diseased part or in other parts of the body. This is the "appearance" and "essence" of the disease. This article will discuss the understanding of Chinese medicine on diseases from a more macro perspective, and put forward some of our viewpoints and current research results.
