Abstract

Neonatal hypoglycemia, defined as a blood glucose level below 40 mg/dL (2.2 mmol/L) in infants, is a common metabolic disorder in newborns, particularly in high-risk populations. This condition can lead to significant short-term and long-term neurological complications if not identified and treated promptly. The etiology of neonatal hypoglycemia is multifactorial, including factors related to the newborn, maternal health, and perinatal conditions. Early identification through screening and clinical assessment, followed by appropriate management strategies, is crucial to mitigate adverse outcomes.
