Abstract

The microbiota, comprising diverse communities of microorganisms residing within the human body, has emerged as a key player in various aspects of health and disease, including cancer. In recent years, accumulating evidence suggests that alterations in the composition and function of the microbiota may influence breast cancer
development, progression, and response to treatment. This article provides an overview of the current understanding of the microbiota’s role in breast cancer, exploring the mechanisms underlying its effects and discussing potential therapeutic opportunities for targeting the microbiota in breast cancer management.
