Abstract

Hypoglycemia is that the main limiting think about diabetes therapy and stems from an imbalance among insulinogenic therapy, food intake, physical activity, organ function (gluconeogenesis), and counterregulation with glucagon and/or epinephrine (hypoglycemia-associated autonomic failure). Hyperinsulinemia, increased alcohol intake, starvation, and organ failure could also be aggravating factors for hypoglycemia.
