From the critical indications for transplantation to the meticulous process of donor selection and the intricacies of surgical techniques, this review offers a comprehensive exploration of the field. It delves into the indispensable role of immunosuppression in maintaining graft function and the relentless battle against rejection. Yet, lung transplantation extends beyond the operating room. This article provides insights into the emotional and psychological hurdles encountered by recipients and their families, underscoring the significance of robust support networks.
