Abstract
Oxidative stress due to the activation of Nox2-NADPH oxidase (Nox2) plays an important role in the pathogenesis of many diseases. Apocynin (4'-hydroxy-3'methoxyacetophenone) is an inhibitor of the Nox2 enzyme widely used in many preclinical and experimental studies. However, its in vivo pharmacokinetics and tissue distribution have not been well evaluated.
