Abstract

Palliative care is an essential component of healthcare that focuses on improving the quality of life for individuals with life-limiting illnesses. Despite its growing recognition worldwide, significant disparities in access and quality persist, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. This paper explores the global perspectives on palliative care, examining the socio-economic, cultural, and healthcare barriers that contribute to unequal access. By analyzing case studies and data from diverse regions, the paper highlights innovative strategies that have been employed to reduce these disparities, such as community-based care models, policy advocacy, and the integration of palliative care into primary healthcare systems. Technological advancements, including telemedicine and mobile health solutions, are also discussed as tools to bridge the gap in resource-limited settings.
