Abstract

This paper delves into the realm of periodontistry, a crucial aspect of dentistry focusing on the treatment and maintenance of the supporting structures of teeth, including gums, bone, tongue, and cheeks. With the advent of implantology, periodontistry has expanded its scope to encompass the prevention and treatment of implant-related diseases such as peri-implantitis. Through a comprehensive review of literature and case studies, this paper aims to shed light on the intricate dynamics of dental support and implant health within the field of periodontistry. Understanding these dynamics is essential for dental professionals to deliver effective care and ensure optimal oral health outcomes for their patients.
