Evaluating the Food Supply Chains? Suitability for Disruptions Caused By Climate Change
Received Date: Mar 01, 2024 / Published Date: Mar 27, 2024
Abstract
As climate change accelerates, the resilience of global food supply chains is increasingly under threat. Climaterelated disruptions, such as extreme weather events, changing precipitation patterns, and temperature fluctuations, can profoundly impact agricultural production, transportation networks, and distribution systems. Understanding the vulnerability of food supply chains to these disruptions is essential for developing strategies to adapt and mitigate potential risks. This article explores the complex interplay between climate change and food supply chains, assesses their vulnerability to climate-induced disruptions, and discusses potential mitigation measures.
