Abstract

Epidemiology and biostatistics are indispensable branches of science crucial for understanding the etiological factors and statistical trends of diseases and health conditions within specific populations or communities. Epidemiology serves as the foundation of public health, unraveling patterns, causes, and effects of various health issues. By identifying risk factors and targets for preventive healthcare, epidemiologists inform policy decisions and evidencebased practices. This interdisciplinary field collaborates with biology to comprehend disease mechanisms, statistics for efficient data analysis, social sciences to explore causal relationships, and engineering for exposure assessment. This abstract underscores the pivotal role of epidemiology and biostatistics in promoting population health and shaping healthcare policies and interventions.
