Abstract

Etanercept is administered via subcutaneous injection, with gradual absorption into the bloodstream and peak serum concentrations achieved within 72 hours. Its distribution is primarily limited to the intravascular compartment, with preferential localization in inflamed tissues. Unlike small molecule drugs, etanercept undergoes proteolytic degradation by endogenous enzymes, leading to predictable kinetics and minimal potential for drug-drug interactions related to metabolism. This abstract provides a concise overview of etanercept pharmacokinetics, unraveling its Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, and Excretion (ADME) processes.
