Abstract

Anesthesia plays a vital role in modern medicine, ensuring patient comfort, safety, and pain management during surgical and diagnostic procedures. Over the years, significant advancements have been made in anesthetic drugs, techniques, and monitoring systems, improving outcomes and minimizing risks. This article explores the evolution of anesthesia, examining its various types—general, regional, and local—and the development of novel agents and techniques. Additionally, it discusses the challenges associated with anesthesia, including complications, patientspecific factors, and technological limitations. Finally, the article highlights future trends in anesthesia, such as personalized anesthetic regimens, artificial intelligence integration, and enhanced recovery protocols.
