Abstract
Anatomical variations of the celiac trunk are numerous, and a thorough understanding of these anatomical variations is essential to avoid potentially life-threatening complications. We report the case of a patient with hepato-renal polycystic disease, who is a candidate for liver transplantation, presenting with an unusual anatomical variant of the celiac trunk. In this variant, there is quadrifurcation of the celiac trunk, giving rise separately to four branches: the left gastric artery, which further gave rise to the left hepatic artery, the splenic artery, the gastroduodenal artery, and the right hepatic artery
