The indicator on excellence in science and technology takes into consideration the quality of scientific production as well as technological development. The Innovation Output Indicator covers technological innovation, skills in knowledge-intensive activities, the competitiveness of knowledge-intensive goods and services, and the innovativeness of fast-growing enterprises, focusing on innovation output.
Santiago Ramón y Cajal was a Spanish pathologist,histologist, neuroscientist, and Nobel laureate. in 2000, the University of Cauca served as a mirror site for the 6thInternet World Congress for Biomedical Sciences, organized by the Pathology Department of Hospital de Ciudad Real in Spain. Bi-annual European telepathology conferences were held without exception in: Toledo (Spain, 2008). The 25th Congress of the Spanish Society of Anatomical Pathology – Spanish Division of the International Academy of Pathology was held in the city of Zaragoza, Spain from May 18 – 21, 2011 in association with the 20th Congress of the Spanish Society of Cytology and the 1st Congress of the Spanish Society of Forensic Pathology.
