Russia has an abundance of oil, natural gas and precious metals, which make up a major share of Russia's exports.

Russia has a high-income mixed economy with state ownership in strategic areas of the economy. Russia relies on energy revenues to drive growth. Russia’s economy decreased substantially last year, hampered by a combination of low oil prices, international sanctions, a sharp depreciation of the ruble and structural weakness.

Russian Association of Orthopedic Research for Healthcare is one of the world’s leading centers for its research in this field. According to SCImago Russia is ranked in 29th position with good number of publications in the various orthopedic journals. The Orthopedic research Centre in the capital city of Russia, Moscow has collaborations with many other associations globally contributing their efficient work in the field of Orthopedics. In different fields of science, this vast country has produced 27 Nobel laureates so far. Some of the leading institutions in the country include Medical research institutes in Russia‎, Research institutes in the Soviet Union, Research institutes in Saint Petersburg that are leading the nation for their contributions in wide areas of research and medicine. Tatiana Chernova and Konstantin Shcherbina has 465 research papers and reviews in reputed international and Russian journals and has published 17 book chapters. Participated in 15th Jubilee Russian National Congress. Leading many orthopedic associations were founded in May 2010.
