This article examines the consequences and impact of alcohol and narcotics use on drivers of cars and trucks. The use of alcohol and narcotics can significantly impair a person's ability to drive safely. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), alcohol is a factor in about 28% of traffic fatalities in the United States. Alcohol affects a driver's ability to concentrate, make decisions, and react quickly to changing situations on the road. Similarly, narcotics such as opioids, marijuana, and methamphetamine can impair a driver's motor skills, coordination, and judgment, making them dangerous on the road. The consequences of driving under the influence of alcohol and narcotics can be severe.
