A paediatric otolaryngologist has the skills and qualifications to treat your kid if he or she requires surgery or complex medical therapy for illnesses or disorders involving the ear, nose, or throat. Children’s surgery is provided by a large number of general otolaryngologists. However, in many parts of the country, children can receive more specialist otolaryngology care [1].

If Pediatric otolaryngologists are doctors who specialise in children’s ears, noses, and throats.

• a minimum of four years of medical school

• Surgical internship for one year

• Frequently, an additional year of general surgery resident training is required.

• At least 3 to 4 years of otolaryngology and head and neck surgery residency training

• Fellowship programmes at a large children’s medical centre are common for paediatric otolaryngologists to finish extra training.

Pediatric otolaryngologists work with children from the time they are born until they reach adolescence. They have chosen to make paediatric care the centre of their medical practise, and they have understood the particular nature of paediatric medical and surgical care via extensive training and practise. Pediatric otolaryngologists specialise in the medical and surgical treatment of children’s ear, nose, and throat problems. In general, paediatric otolaryngologists deliver the following services: [2].

• Ear, nose, and throat issues, as well as head and neck ailments, are diagnosed and treated.

• Head and neck surgery, including pre- and post-operative care

• When ear, nose, and throat disorders are discovered, other doctors are consulted.

• Assisting with the diagnosis of communication difficulties in youngsters.

Pediatric otolaryngologists practice in a variety of medical institutions including children’s hospitals, university medical centres and large community hospitals. Children are not to be mistaken for small adults. They may not always be able to express what is hurting them. They may not always be able to answer medical inquiries or be patient and cooperative during a medical checkup. Pediatric otolaryngologists are skilled at examining and treating children in a way that helps them feel at ease. Pediatric otolaryngologists also employ equipment that is specifically created for youngsters. The offices of most paediatric otolaryngologists are designed and decorated with children in mind. This includes waiting rooms and examination rooms, which may have toys, films, and reading materials for youngsters. This aids in the creation of a welcoming and non-threatening environment for your child. If your child’s paediatrician recommends that he see a specialist for an ear, nose, or throat problem, a paediatric otolaryngologist has the most treatment options, the most extensive and comprehensive training, and the most expertise in dealing with children and treating children’s ear, nose, and throat disorders [3,4].
