Abstract
Periods are one of the major part of the women life. As considered by many it is not a impure deed but it is very crucial for existence of the race. As the menstrual cycle is part of the reproductive health. There are many people who use cloths during the cycle, which is very unhygienic. Many use sanitary pads which are made up of artificial chemicals and plastics. These kind of sanitary napkins take around 500-800 years to decompose and cause a threat to the environment and they also contain several chemicals which are harmful for the health. These Organic Sanitary Napkins are an initiative by Ind Mallow to protect the nature as well as health of people.
Introduction
Regular sanitary pads have a lot of plastic content and can cause skin irritation and allergic reactions. DIOXIN is a chemical used to bleach the cotton and cellulose, wood pulp to give white color. This chemical does not get eliminated from the product on which it is used and find its way to your body. Even at low doses, Dioxin finds its ways into your fat tissues and pose several health threats. The nature of Dioxin to get accumulated in your body has the potential to cause cancers like Cervical Cancer and Ovarian cancer.
Ind Mallow has come up with the Organic Sanitary napkins. Organic pads contain an absorbent cellulose core which locks away menstrual fluid to keep you dry, and a soft organic cotton cover that allows your skin to breathe. Sanitary Pads and Liners that have an organic plant based top cover with corn, Bamboo, Wood, Banana, Jute Pulp or cellulose Absorbent etc., and thus free from any plastics, chlorine, latex, Rayon, chemical additives or dyes are classified as biodegradable pads. This makes them fully compostable and lessens the accumulation of plastic waste.
