By analyzing genetic markers, such as single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), researchers can identify genetic variants that impact traits relevant to nutrition, such as metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and vitamins. Integrating this genetic information with clinical data and lifestyle factors allows for the formulation of personalized dietary plans that are not only more effective but also potentially preventive in managing chronic diseases. Challenges remain, including the need for large-scale studies to validate genetic associations and the ethical implications of genetic testing.
