Introduction

The quality of the air we breathe has a profound impact on public health, with local communities often bearing the brunt of poor air quality. As urbanization and industrialization intensify, the consequences of air pollution become increasingly pronounced, affecting the respiratory, cardiovascular, and overall well-being of individuals within communities. One of the most immediate and discernible effects of poor air quality is on respiratory health. Airborne pollutants, such as particulate matter, nitrogen dioxide, and ozone, can penetrate deep into the respiratory system, causing or exacerbating respiratory conditions. Individuals living in areas with high levels of air pollution are more prone to respiratory issues, including asthma, bronchitis, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
