Abstract

Hybrid rice, a transformative in Maration in agriculture, has emerged as a pivotal solution to the challenges posed by population growth, climate change, and food security. This article explores the genesis, advantages, challenges, and future prospects of hybrid rice cultivation. Originating in the 1960s with the pioneering work of Chinese scientist Yuan Longping, hybrid rice exhibits increased yield potential, resistance to stresses, improved nutritional content, and resource efficiency. Despite its advantages, challenges include seed production logistics, genetic uniformity, high seed costs, and the need for consumer acceptance.
