Description

Emerging infectious disease is an important concern in medicine. It usually causes problem in diagnosis and treatment. Emerging infectious disease can be seen at any time. However, in some specific situations, emerging infectious disease becomes more complicated. Emerging infectious disease during a war is a good complex situation. In the present day, conflict occurs around the world. The well-known conflict situations presently exist in the Middle East and Africa. Some areas are under war situations. During a war, shortened facilities can be expected and this can superimpose the difficulty in management of emerging infectious disease [1,2]. In the world history, several emerging infectious occurred during war situations [3]. A well-known situation is the linkage between World War I and emergence of Spanish flu [4]. In Korean War, several new parasites were seen and became important causes of death among prisoners of the war [5]. During Vietnam War, thousands of US soldiers got malaria and malaria becomes an important concern infectious for war in tropical areas [6]. In the recent Gulf War, the problem of infective diarrhea is also common and becomes the important component in Gulf War syndrome [7].
