Innovative Energy & Research (IER), a broad-based journal was founded on two key tenets: To publish the most exciting researches with respect to the subjects of Business & Financial Affairs. Secondly, to provide a rapid turn-around time possible for reviewing and publishing and to disseminate the articles freely for research, teaching and reference purposes.

I am pleased to mention that during the year 2019, all issues of volume 8 were published online well within the time and the print issues were also brought out and dispatched within 30 days of publishing the issue online. The IEP Impact factor for the year 2019 was 1.36. IEP is an open access publication model, that enables the dissemination of research articles to the global community without restriction usually through the internet. Thus, all articles published under Open Access can be accessed by anyone with internet connection. Innovative Energy & Research (IER) strongly supports the Open Access initiative. Abstracts and full texts (HTML, PDF and XML format) of all articles published by Innovative Energy & Research (IER) are freely accessible to everyone immediately after publication.

During the calendar year 2019, IEP received a total of 70 papers, out of which 54 articles were rejected in the preliminary screening due to plagiarism or being out of the format. During 2019 around 16 articles were subjected to the peer-review process and 13 of those were accepted. In the 4issues of Volume 8 published during the year 2019, a total of 13 articles were published of which, 50 % articles were by foreign authors. A total of 140 research scientists from India and abroad reviewed the 13 articles published in volume 8. Average publication lag time of an article was further reduced to 6-8 months.

I take this opportunity to acknowledge the contribution of Dr B. V. Babu during the final editing of articles published and the support rendered by the editorial assistant, Mr Bin Chen in bringing out issues of IEP in time. I would also like to express my gratitude to all the authors, reviewers, the publisher, the advisory and the editorial board of IEP, the office bearers and staff of IPA secretariat for their support in bringing out yet another volume of IEP and look forward to their unrelenting support to bring out the Volume 8 of IEP in scheduled time.
