Abstract
The intestine microbiota that resides in the mammalian gut performs a crucial function in host health, nutrition, metabolic and immune homeostasis. As symbiotic bacteria, these microorganisms rely on the whole on non-digestible fibers and polysaccharides as electricity sources.
