The emphasis on a variety of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains reinforces the importance of dietary diversity for optimal health.

2. Anti-inflammatory foods and cancer risk

The significant reduction in markers of systemic inflammation in individuals adhering to an anti-inflammatory diet suggests a promising avenue for cancer risk reduction.
