It is also called as nerve cell. Neurons are connected to each other to form a neural network. Signals between the neurons occur via synapse. Neuron consists of nucleus, dendrites, axon, axon terminals. Axon is covered by myelin sheath but not continuously, places where myelin sheath covering is absent is called as nodes of ranvier. Neurons that simply signals the other neuron are called as interneurons.
