Neonatology is a branch of pediatrics which majorly deals with the medical conditions of the newborn. The branch is mostly a hospital based study and is practiced in the neonatal intensive care units. The study mostly involves the preterm and the ill born.The physicians involved in this type of study are known as neonatologists and the patients are refereed as neonates. The different conditions studied under this section involve preterm birth, congenital anomalies, intrauterine infections etc. A journal is a periodical publication intended to further progress of science, usually by reporting new research. Most journals are highly specialized, although some of the oldest journals publish articles, reviews, editorials, short communications, letters, and scientific papers across a wide range of scientific fields. Journals contain articles that peer reviewed, in an attempt to ensure that articles meet the journal's standards of quality, and scientific validity. Each such journal article becomes part of the permanent scientific record.
