Biography | |||
Dr. Shah Alam Khan is currently working as an Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Medicinal Chemistry in the department of Pharmacy at Oman Medical College, Muscat, Oman (affiliated to West Virginia University, USA He received his Ph.D. from Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi, in 2003 for studying role and chemistry of Silybum marianum, silymarin and its synthetic analogues in the hepatoprotection. He is also recipient of Government of India, Junior research fellowship (JRF, GATE) and Senior Research fellowship (SRF, CSIR) for pursuing masters and doctorate. He has published/presented more than 50 research articles in the national and international journal of repute. He is editorial board member of many international journals and has reviewed scientific papers in field of Pharmacy and science for more than 20 journals. He has supervised 15 undergraduate and post graduate research projects, two of them were awarded first and second prize in poster presentation category at international conferences. He has been invited as guest speaker in many conferences. He was awarded ‘Best Teacher’ in Pharmacy at Oman Medical College for the academic year 2010-11 and 2011-12 consecutively. He is life member of many professional bodies such as IPA, IPGA and APTI. |
