Biography

Dr. Yen graduated from the National Taiwan University College of medicine and did his internal medicine training at Changhua Christian Hospital where, he also served as Chief Medical Resident. GI fellowship training at Department of gastroenterology Changhua Christian Hospital. He served on the clinical staff since 2006, in Changhua Christian Hospital and became Chief of Endoscopy Center Changhua Christian Hospital in 2010. He has been actively involved in clinical investigation relating to endoscopic diagnosis and treatment especially on enteroscopy.
 

 
Research Interest

Dr. Yen research interests include Therapeutic endoscopy (Hemostasis, EMR, ESD), Enteroscopy (DBE, capsule endoscopy), Gastrointestinal cancers, Hepatomas

1. How many years have you been associated with the current research?
From 2004 till now

2. What is the research topic you are working on now?
Enteroscopy and small intestinal diseases

3. What are attributes for a quality article?
Originality of the study. Studies that contribute to current medical knowledge.

4. Do you have any research funding (NIH or other national funding) now?
No

5. When did you become an editor of OMICS Journal?
For 2 years

6. Where can the journal find the maximum scope in terms of niche?
There are many open access journals now in the world.
However, the cose of publication is high for the researchers especially for those from
Developing country or no research found. The journal can consider remain in open access with discount for publication fee in the future.

7. What is your greatest career accomplishment?
Become a professor in this field.

8. How does the published scientific content assist the potential researchers?
The published content is helpful when it can be distributed widely and indexed in popular search engine, such as PubMed, Google, … etc
The publisher should send this information to the libraries and recommand the library to link to the journal site. Therefore, the researchers can be more easily to access to the journal. The PubMed is a very useful plateform for this purpose.

9. What is the purpose of serving as an editor?
The editor help to select and publish scientific papers for the journal .

10. Do you have any patents?
No

11. Have you contributed any editorials or papers (any types) to OMICS Journals in the past two years?
Not yet

12. Do you plan to contribute any editorials or papers to OMICS Journals in the next year?
Yes

13. How would you define your experience with OMICS Group?
It is efficient. However, I remain not clear about commission of OMICS group from other publishing groups.

14. Your opinion on conducting Editorial Board meetings at related Conferences?
Yes

15. Would you recommend OMICS to your friends or colleagues?
Of course !

16. How do you differentiate Journal of Gastrointestinal & Digestive System with other journals in the field?
There are many open access journals in the Gastroenterology field. For me, the publishing process is similar. The journal might can gain advantage while they can cooperate with specific medical association. Also, I am not sure why Gastroenterology and Urology are combined in this journal ? such as the 3rd International Conference on Gastroenterology & Urology conference ?
The field is quit different in Taiwan.
