Biography

Seung Joo Lim, Ph.D., works as a senior researcher at Radiation Research Division for Industry and Environment in Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute. He received a Master’s in Environmental Engineering (Diploma, 1997) from the Konkuk University, Republic of Korea, a Master’s (2008) in Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering from Iowa State University, USA and Ph.D. (2011) in Civil, Environmental and Sustainable Engineering from Arizona State University, USA. Prior to join to academia, Lim worked as a senior researcher for years at some environmental researching institutes, where he developed/patented new treatment processes for treating organic matter and nutrients and consulted with clients to solve water/soil bioremediations as a senior researcher. Lim currently serves as a reviewer of 7 SCI(E) and 7 non-SCI journals.

Research Interest

Soil bioremediation using bioaugmentation, Removal of POPs by microorganisms, QSAR and modeling for monitoring and tracing for micropollutants, Monitoring and biotreatment in an aquifer, Removal of recalcitrant organic matter in the environment using radicals.
