Biography

My research stay also included the sabbaticals in the laboratories of Prof. Ralf Conrad (Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology, Marburg), Prof. D. R. Lovley (University of Massachusetts, Amherst), and Prof. M. Megharaj (Centre for Environmental Risk Assessment and Remediation, University of South Australia, Adelaide). Currently, I am a faculty member at Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. My research goals include gaining a better understanding of anaerobic microbial procesess for mitigation of greenhouse gases, remediation of toxic metals and contaminants, and establishing a good school of research for anaerobic soil microbiology.

Research Interest

Nitrogen cycling by archaea and anammox bacteria, iron and manganese cycling, and the anaerobic processes which are involved for remediating toxic metals and organic contaminants.
