Bioremediation is a waste management technique that involves the use of organisms to remove or neutralize pollutants from a contaminated site. The hydrocarbon spreads horizontally on the ground water surface and partition into ground water, air space and to the surfaces of soil particles. During this partition, hydrocarbons are degraded in soil mainly by bacteria (0.13-50%) of the total of heterotrophic soil microorganisms, and fungi (6-82%).
