Ziad Kronfol, M.D. is Professor of Psychiatry and Psychiatry Clerkship Director at Weill Cornell Medicine in Qatar. He previously was Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Director of the Psychoneuroimmunology Program at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, USA. Dr. Kronfol is past Vice-President of the Asian Federation of Psychiatric Associations, Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and member of the Section on Education in the World Psychiatric Association. He is Associate Editor of the Asian Journal of Psychiatry and editorial board member of several scientific journals, including Academic Psychiatry, Journal of Clinical and Health Psychology and Peer J. Dr. Kronfol is internationally known for his pioneering work in the field of psychoneuroimmunology. He is the author/editor of a book entitled "Cytokines and Mental Health" published by Kluwer. Dr. Kronfol has published over 100 scientific articles and more than 150 abstracts in proceedings of scientific meetings. He has received funding from the National Institute of Health, the National Alliance for Research on Biological Psychiatry and Affective Disorders (NARSAD) and the Qatar National Research Fund. He is featured on the ISI Web of Knowledge list of most cited researchers.
