Biography

Physical therapist (2003), MSc (2005) and PhD (2009) degree in Human Physiology at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). Master degree in Treatment of Pain and Palliative Medicine at the University Foundation for the Study of Pain and Palliative Care UFRGS / HCPA (2007). In 2008 was fellow collaborative project Brazil - Spain (CAPES) in the Department of Physiology at the University of León, Spain. In the period Jan 2010 - Dec 2012 held Postdoctoral Fellow at the Chemistry Institute of the University State of Campinas, with FAPESP funding, project investigating the role of nitric oxide in inflammatory hyperalgesia in cooperation with the Department of Pharmacology, Pain Laboratory of USP in Ribeirão Preto. Ad hoc reviewer for national and international journals in the field of basic and clinical sciences. Member of the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) since 2010. Collaborator researcher at Pain and Neuromodulation Laboratory of the Porto Alegre University Hospital, carrying out projects in collaboration with the Laboratory of Neuromodulation Rehabilitation Spaulding Hospital (Spaulding Rehabilitations Hospital - Harvard Medical School. Postdoctoral research at the Department of Physiology at the UFRGS at Pharmacology Laboratory Pain and Neuromodulation (UFRGS). Currently is professor of Physical Therapy at Universidade Federal de Ciências da Saúde de Porto Alegre (UFCSPA), Brazil.
