Chao Yang is a Professor in National Engineering Research Center of Near-net-shape Forming for Metallic Materials at South China University of Technology. He received his Ph.D. degree in Material Science from State Key Laboratory of Metastable Materials Science and Technology of Yanshan University. He is vice dean of Key Laboratory (Category B) of High-efficiency Near-net-shape Forming Technology and Equipments for Metallic Materials Supported by Ministry of Education of the PRC, managing director of Youth Committee of Chinese Materials Research Society, and full member of The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society. He was selected as the Fellow of “Thousand-Hundred-Ten Project” of Guangdong Province University in 2010, the Fellow of the Program for NCET in University supported by Ministry of Education of the PRC in 2011, and the fellow of Outstanding Talent Development Program of South China University of Technology in 2012. He has received 4 ministry and provincial awards, taken charge of 9 national projects, applied for 39 invention patents (including 3 international invention patents), written 1 English Monographs, and published over 90 journal publications (including 1 ESI highly cited paper), such as Acta Materialia, Scripta Materialia, and Scientific Report, etc.
