Peter Kullar qualified in medicine and surgery from the University of Cambridge, UK in 2007, and was appointed an Academic Clinical Fellow in ENT in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 2009. After a one year Royal College of Surgeons research fellowship he obtained a prestigious Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Fellowship. Focusing his research on the mechanisms of mitochondrial deafness he obtained a PhD in Clinical Neurosciences from the University of Cambridge. Currently, he is a ENT registrar based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne but continues to have an active role in junior doctor and medical student teaching whilst maintaining a number of research interests.
