Biography

He is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist and lecturer in Clinical Exercise Physiology at Deakin University in Melbourne. He has an an extensive history in clinical practice, and research focuses on exercise interventions for the management of chronic disease and age related declines in function, the role of exercise and nutrition in managing chronic diseases, cancer recovery and chronic pain. Niamh chairs the Exercise Physiology for Neurological and Neuromuscular disease, and Mental Health and Exercise Behaviour units. She is currently undertaking a PhD investigating the benefits of multimodal exercise and nutritional supplementation for cognitive function and mood in men treated with androgen deprivation therapy for prostate cancer.

Research Interest

Her research interests focus on the role of exercise and nutritional supplementation in attenuating age related declines in physical and cognitive functions.
