Ming-Hua Qiu
Biography
Dr.Ming-Hua Qiu,obtaine his B.Sc. Degree(1984) in Physical chemistry and his Ph.D degree (1996) in natural organic chemistry from School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering,Peking University, Beijing, China. After University he joined the Phytochemistry Lab of the Kunming Institute of Botany,CAS. He participated in the University of Tokyo(1989), Toyama Medical and Pharmaceutical University (1998, 2000), and University of Illinois at Chicago (2203) as gratuated student, post doctor and visiting scholar respectively. He became full Professor of Phytochemistry at Kunming Institute of Botany since1997. He has published more than 260 scientific research papers and 43 China Patents for invention and the editor of 2 books. He has devoted 33 years in the area of natural product chemistry. He is currently member of Chinese Botnical Society and Chinese Chemical Society.
Research Interest
Isolation, identification, structure elucidation and analysis of natural products from medicinal and economic plants.Biological activity of natural products, special anticancer bioactive new molecules from Buxaceae, Cucurbitaceae, Cimicifuga, Ganoderma spp., utilization of plant resources such as using seed oil of Jatropha curcas to produce biodiesel and pyrethrum to manufacture green pesticide. He discoverd more than 800 new natural product molecules from the medicinal plants.
