Biography

MD. KABIRUL ISLAM KHAN After completion of graduation in B Sc in Animal Husbandry (Hons) and MS in animal breeding and genetics stared work as a extension service and then moved to the Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute (BLRI) at Savar, Dhaka, where he worked as a Senior Scientific officer and his main work was administration and research on dairy cattle genetic improvement. After 2 years he moved at Chittagong Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University as an Assistant Professor and where he is still working. During this time he have completed 09 Research project as a Principal Investigator. He is involving teaching on different courses (Genetics and Animal Breeding and Computational genetics/biology) at graduate and undergraduate level. He has done his PhD from Massey University, New Zealand and his thesis title was “Developments of models for the genetic improvement of dairy cattle under cooperative dairying conditions in Bangladesh”. Then in Scottish Agricultural College, (University of Edinburgh), UK he has developed a stochastic models for the genetic improvements dairy cattle. Currently he is working as a Professor at the Department of Genetics and Animal Breeding, CVASU, Bangladesh. So far he has published more than 48 research articles in different national and international journals and he has attendant more than 12 conferences in home and abroad.
