Biography

I have been working as an assistant at the Chair and Department of Medical Chemistry of Medical University in Lublin since 2010. As a teacher, I give classes in General Chemistry and Biochemistry for Polish as well as foreign students (in English). I graduated in Biotechnology at University of Life Sciences in Lublin, Faculty of Food Sciences and Biotechnology in 2009. Thesis: “Optimization of method for the isolation of large bacterial plasmids from lactic acid bacteria (Lactococcus lactis ssp. cremoris)”. In 2004-2009, I was a member of Students Research Circle of Food Biotechnology and I performed the project: "Viability of lactic acid bacteria and sensory evaluation of different kinds of milk products". I completed my PhD in medical science (thesis: "25-hydroxyvitamin D3 concentration and profile of selected adipokines in type 2 diabetic patients with excessive body weight”) at Medical University of Lublin (Poland) in May 2015. In 2015-2016, I was responsible for carrying out cell research in two big projects: “The influence of the chemical structure of coumarins derivatives on their central effects showed in behavioral and biochemical studies” and “From chemoprevention to chemotherapy the role of capsaicin in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma”. At present, I am carrying out research on the role of bee venom on differentiation process of 3T3-L1 pre-adipocyte to adipocyte. I am also taking part in research evaluating the possible role of selenium as a protective agent against lithium toxicity. In my work, I am using the following scientific methods/techniques: isolation total and plasmid DNA from bacteria, cell culture techniques, PCR, electrophoresis, zymography, ELISA, HPLC, flow cytometry. Moreover, I am responsible for handling the Amino Acid Analyzer 400 (Ingos, Praga). In 2013, I successfully completed Mitrovica Summer University 2013 (MSU13), Mitrovica, Kosovo, whereas in 2015 the TransFormation.doc Soft Skills Program held at the Ivey Business School at Western University in London, Ontario, Canada. Up to now I have performed a review of 27 articles, e.g. for Redox Raport, International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, Biological Trace Element Research, Annals of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Diseases, Toxicology Mechanisms and Methods or Tumor Biology. I am a member of Editorial Team of International Journal of Brain Disorders Therapy, Cardiology and Cardiovascular Diseases as well as International Journal of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Research.
