Biography

Dr. Jemila Seid Hamid received a PhD in mathematical statistics from the Swedish University of Agricultural sciences, Uppsala, Sweden, 2005.She held positions of research associate and biostatistician at the Hospital for Sick Children and Public Health Agency of Ontario. She is currently working as an assistant professor at the department of Clinical Epidemiology & Biostatistics, McMaster University  and have a joint appointment in Pathology & Molecular Medicine. I received the “young statistician of the year” award from the Swedish Statistical Association in 2006. Her main research activity is development, validation, implementation and application of statistical methods with a special focus on multivariate growth curves, statistical methods in diagnostic medicine and biomarkers, methods for genomics including time course genomic data and methods for data integration.

 

 

Research Interest

Dr. Jemila Seid Hamid is generally interested in statistical methods in medicine, epidemiology and public health applications. She is particularly interested in multivariate methods and methods for longitudinal data. She is also interested in methods for high dimensional genomic data including high-throughput time course data.
